Introduction
The Good For the Swole exercise app was specifically designed to help women during pregnancy and after giving birth. The app offers a range of exercises organized by trimester, encourages daily exercise through streaks, and provides video walkthroughs hosted by creator and fitness expert, Becky.
Becky has built an extremely successful community on Instagram and has been providing tutorials as well as sharing her life journey there. However, Instagram did not provide the features needed for her audience, so she asked us to create a brand new app for her and her followers.
We were excited by the prospect of creating an app that could help so many people. However, we knew there would be some obstacles to overcome.
Becky created a basic previously to Maven joining the project which better organized her tutorials, but we of course wanted to take it to the next level. We took inspiration from other exercise apps, as well as apps like Duolingo who effectively motivate their users to continue progressing through encouraging messaging and celebrating with the user when they complete a task.
